Who We Treat

Infants / Children

Babies entering into this world have already experienced multiple traumas.  Let’s face it, there is nothing easy about the birth process either.  Even if your delivery did not require the use of suction/forceps, it’s still a traumatic process on both mom and baby.  Research has shown that children who receive regular chiropractic care are less likely to experience the “usual childhood illness,” such as colic, ear infections, sinus infections, etc.  Babies and children love getting treated and respond very quickly to the care.

Prenatal / Pregnant / Post-Natal

The many therapies our office provides work directly with your body to help support the significant changes you’re experiencing.  Research has shown women who receive chiropractic care throughout their pregnancies often have easier deliveries and faster recovery times.

What we look at

Skeletal

Re-establishing structural integrity is the foundation of health.  80% of all conditions improve when the structure of the body is properly re-established to allow a free flow of vital energy.  We will locate subluxations and reduce or correct them through gentle chiropractic adjustments to rebalance the body without discomfort.

Muscular

The muscular system is our body armor.  Not only does it create and control motion, but it protects the body from the many stressors it’s exposed to on a daily basis.  The first sign the muscular system is protecting our body from something is tightness.  Instead of focusing on this tightness, we look for the cause of the tightness and treat those imbalances to restore health to the muscular system.

Fascial

The fascial system has been named “The Communication Highway” of the body.  It’s reading and responding to all stimuli before the nervous system has a chance.  This protective covering is one continuous piece throughout the entire body.  It’s been compared to saran wrap.  Imagine getting one little kink in your saran wrap.  That kink impacts the rest of the saran wrap.  These kinks happen in our fascia from traumas, fractures, surgeries and emotional stress and have a negative impact on our nervous system.

Visceral

The organs both move in response to their own metabolic function and to motion of the structures around them.  Organs move when we walk, breathe, run, etc.  If they do not, they will restrict the motion of their neighbor.  This restriction can irritate surrounding structures and set up inflammation, which can lead to further restriction and so on.  This reduction in motion not only affects the motion of its neighbors but the feedback to the brain as well.

Techniques

Activator

The activator method is one of the most widely researched chiropractic techniques and the only instrument adjusting technique with clinical trails to support its efficacy.  The activator is a small handheld spring-loaded instrument which delivers a small impulse to the spine.  We test each region of the body to see what needs to be adjusted, how it needs to be adjusted, did we correct the misalignment and just as importantly, what does not need to be adjusted.

Percussor

Many people experience chronic pain due to fascial restrictions and scar tissue.  The fascia is the thin layer of connective tissue that covers and supports the muscles and inner organs of the body.  When it fixates or knots up it can cause pain.  The percussor allows us to work with the fascia of the body, freeing the fixations.  The smooth force of the percussor allows the freeing of both the connective tissue and the deep fascia.  You will experience remarkable results with the percussor in many problem areas including: shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and lung congestion.

MAT

Muscle Activation Technique (MAT) is a dynamic approach to treating muscular imbalances that will reduce or eliminate pain, compensation, tightness and speed muscle recovery.  MAT looks at muscle weakness/inhibition (cause) instead of muscle tightness (symptom).  Combining a unique muscle therapy and range of motion analysis, MAT eliminates the muscle and joint pain that so many of us experience doing the sports and daily activities we enjoy.  MAT restores your body’s pain free movement and performance levels.

Adjustor

Another instrument adjusting technique that stimulates your special sensory nerve receptors, called proprioceptors, which are responsible for detecting the proper motion and alignment of the body’s muscles and joints, signaling that all is well without increasing inflammation or pain.  This instrument is used when performing central integration, correcting facet jamming patterns in the spine and reducing disc imbalances of the spine.

Manual Therapy

When addressing visceral restrictions, we utilize a hands on approach to release the detected restrictions while freeing up the organs to restore proper function.  Many people have visceral restrictions that go undetected.  Through our experience, releasing these restrictions can be the very cause of an ongoing problem that until corrected will continue regardless of therapies used.  For example, a patient who is experiencing chronic low back pain may actually have a bladder that is restricted that is causing referred pain to the back.  Unless this patient is evaluated and treated for the bladder restriction, the low back pain will continue.

Cranial

A technique that works on regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid by using therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodial joints of the skull.  It is very light work that provides remarkable results.  We use this in combination with the percussor technique to release fascial restrictions of the cranium to achieve more optimal results.

Low Level Laser

Low Level Laser accelerates healing.  The healing nature of light acts much like photosynthesis in plants.  Low Level Laser provides light energy to your body’s cells to increase their function and to stimulate your body’s natural healing process or processes, safely and easily.  Physiologic effects include metabolism, circulation and tissue healing.

Magnet Therapy

Natural magnetism promotes health and provides energy by eliminating disorder in the various body systems.  Magnet therapy stimulates blood circulation and builds new cells to rejuvenate tissues of the body.

Blocks

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) is the diagnostic and treatment method that involves analysis and correction of sacral and cranial distortions to improve circulation of cerebrospinal fluid.  This technique helps move the body into a more restful stage.

Central Integration

The greatest amount of information that the body receives comes from the spine and the muscular system.  To balance the spine and muscles in conjunction with the eyes and ears for balance and hearing facilitates a central integrative state (keeping you balanced with the world around you) and optimal wellness.

Kinesiotaping

An advanced taping technique that involves taping over and around muscles in order to assist and give support to the muscular system.  Our practitioners go a step further utilizing the muscle activation technique to specifically test which muscles need the reinforcement.
