Upon entering our office, our front desk staff will welcome you as a member of our family. If not completed already, we will have you fill out some brief paperwork. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Kelly Bahr to discuss your condition, concerns and potential treatment options. Dr. Bahr will ask you some specific questions regarding your condition to determine if any of our services may be of benefit to you. The initial visit is designed for Dr. Bahr to learn more about you, your health concerns and your expectations to determine how our care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, Dr. Kelly Bahr will perform a complete examination. The exam will include testing your range of motion, performing orthopedic, neurological, muscle and physical tests all designed to help Dr. Bahr understand the cause of your health concern. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Depending on the nature of your condition, Dr. Bahr may refer you out for special imaging. Dr. Kelly Bahr takes a conservative approach to utilizing special imaging. Your specific condition may require Dr. Bahr to order x-rays, MRI, CT, etc. to either rule out more serious conditions or assist in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. If you have had recent imaging done, Dr. Bahr would appreciate you bringing those on your initial visit.
Report of Findings (ROF)
After the information is collected and the examinations have been performed, Dr. Kelly Bahr will offer an extensive report of all findings and answer any questions including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will my treatment cost?
After reviewing your health history, goals and examining your spine, Dr. Kelly Bahr will discuss recommendations and will discuss with you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr. Bahr will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs and goals.
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients may be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments and/or physical therapies.
Healthy Lifestyle Program
After treatment, the doctor will suggest a wellness program to incorporate outside of treatment. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, nutrition, and at home exercise and/or isometrics. If you desire, our Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique; therefore, everyone requires a customized healthy lifestyle plan. The purpose of our healthy lifestyle program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise and maintain a positive mental state.
